Knitting Labyrinth
Posted by happyangel03 on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 5:15:52 AM
I have started, twice now, my second sweater.  I am so very excited!  it is Labyrinth by Stitch Diva found at stitchdiva.com .  I have now worked my way down to the waist decreases.  I had to start this pattern twice because I did not pay close enough, or maybe read too much into the instructions, and ended up casting on way too many stitches.  And to make matters worse, I found this out while canoing with my family and some friends.  So on the river, I was in the middle of the canoe so was able to work on the sweater, but oh!! I was so mad, I ripped the whole thing out and put it away.  I re-cast on the RIGHT  amount of stitches, and have made some great progress.  Check out my progress on Ravlry.com

Army Stuff!
Posted by happyangel03 on Saturday, July 05, 2008 at 7:52:43 PM

I am in Washington State with some army stuff I'm doing and will be here for another 14 days or so.  I am a nurse, obviously, but because I am enlisted I have been tasked to be a driver, fun.  I still have hope to go hiking, but I need to find someone to go with me for safety reasons.  I will probably rent a car and go.  Mt Reiner is one of my main stops I want to get to, but Seattle yarn shops are up on the list too.  I just hope I can get my rear in gear and go do the things instead of sitting and doing nothing.

I am making soap bags like crazy as they take me about an hour to make and they fit so easily in my pockets.  I need to start making them shorter, like 3 ½ to 4 in instead of 4.5in.  I can’t wait to get back home for my SFS package so I can start knitting my first SFS sock.  I do need to get going on the pair I have cast on now though, I think I will bring them with me driving tomorrow, I should have time to knit on them.

‘Till the next time I can get internet access. . . .

Some Days . . .
Posted by happyangel03 on Monday, June 23, 2008 at 2:29:16 AM

Some days I just hate ignorant people.  Usually I'm just irritated with them, but today/Sunday, I truly wanted to tell them off.  I went to church and from there I decided to go to the humane society to get a fur fix since my baby is visiting her semi perm home for the next 3 weeks while I'm away.  I had finished playing with the kitties and stopped in to see the puppies, there were two women in there looking at a dog and as I was washing my hands to leave I overheard one say to the other, "6 years, why would someone get rid of their dog after 6 years?"  I piped up saying "sometimes situations change, for example military personnel might be moved to a place where they are unable to keep their pet."  This lady then has the balls to say, "Well then why did they get the animal in the first place then?"  this ticked me off to no end that only those who could see into the future and know there life will never be changing, could get a pet, so I replied "they get lonely too" when I really wanted to hand her ass on a platter, but I had just come from church, so I took a deep breath and left.  I opened my windows of my car, turned up the radio and relaxed as best I could.  I just could not believe her gal.  My own personal situation with this scenario was that 3 of my buddies adopted 3 sibling kittens from a liter.  One of these soldiers did not know his orders until the week before our graduation from training.  At that point he was unable to get the paperwork to the airline to bring his cat with him and did not have anyone at home that would be able to take his cat, so he was going to give Onyx to Pet Co.  I stepped in and took his cat home with me and she is having the time of her life eating chipmunk-sickles and mouse pâté.  But case in point, should he not have had his cat that he loved for a year just because he did not know he would be unable to take her with him?  I say no.  If I was forced to leave tomorrow, I am blessed to have my parents close by who would foster my cat until I was able to get her or come home.  I hope I will never have to give my girl up, and would be crushed if I did, but I refuse to be held back from the love of my cat just because a possibility is possible!

Spay and neuter your pets!

A Day in the Life
Posted by happyangel03 on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 12:11:59 AM
I started this post on Wednesday morning, midnight and it is now 5 am Saturday, I can't sleep.  I'm not sure why, I am tired, but who knows.  I tore out moms old blanket last night and started working on it, so far so good.  I'll try to post pics.  So long 'till I can get some sleep.

Who Will You Choose?

I Chose You

One Sunday morning during service, a 2,000 member congregation was surprised to see two men enter, both covered from head to toe in black and carrying submachine guns. One of the men proclaimed, "Anyone willing to take a bullet for Christ remain where you are."

Immediately, the choir fled, the deacons fled, and most of the congregation fled. Out of the 2,000 there only remained around 20.

The man who had spoken took off his hood, looked at the preacher and said "Okay Pastor, I got rid of all the hypocrites. Now you may begin your service. Have a nice day!" And the two men turned and walked out.

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God... and then wonder why the world is in the condition it is today.

Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.

Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, think, say, or do anything the Bible says!

Funny or is it scary?

Funny how someone can say "I believe in God" but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also "believes" in God).

Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.

Funny how the lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but the public discussion of Jesus is suppressed in the school and work place.

Funny, isn't it? Funny how someone can be so fired up for Christ on Sunday, but be an invisible Christian the rest of the week.

Are you laughing?

Funny how when you go to forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them.

Funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me than what God thinks of me.

Are you thinking?

Will you share this with other people? Or not?

I picked you.
